Reporting to: Curriculum Team Leader - MC6

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays (pro-rata)

Contractual hours: 22.2 hours per week

Teaching hours: 518.4 annualised hours

Basis: Part time, Permanent

Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Physics to join our MC6 A-Levels team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Engineering professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Teacher of Physics, you will:

  • Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Physics sector.

  • Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in specific areas, e.g. Physics

  • Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.

  • Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.

 

What We’re Looking For: 

We seek candidates who:

  • Holds a minimum Level 3 Physics qualification (Essential) or a relevant Degree, and GCSEs in English and Maths.

  • Is a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards*

  • Has current knowledge and experience in teaching Physics

  • Demonstrate effective classroom management, excellent time management, and strong communication skills.

  • Is proficient in preparing teaching materials using Information Learning Technology.

*The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
