Join Our Team

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Assessor in Childcare & Education to join our Business & Childcare Study Programmes department. The Childcare and Education Assessor will be accountable for coordinating Work-Based Learning in Childcare and Education across all levels within the Childcare and Education Department. This position entails working across childcare and education programmes, covering areas such as induction, marketing, initial assessment, continuous assessment, and verification.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Assessor in Childcare & Education, you will:

  • Provide support for work-based training programmes in Childcare and Education, addressing employer requirements.
  • Train learners assigned to you based on their needs, including assessing their competence both within the college and in workplace settings.
  • Organise and coordinate work-based assessments with assistance from the course’s Personal Tutor.
  • Liaise with employers to conduct observations within employment settings in Childcare and Education.
  • Support programme induction, marketing, initial assessment, ongoing assessment, and verification processes at the college.
  • Participate in college open/interview nights and employer engagement events, both within Childcare and Education and across the broader curriculum of the CE department and the HCBE facility.

 

What We’re Looking For:

We seek candidates who:

  • Hold a minimum Level 3 Full and Relevant Early Years or Education qualification.
  • Possess Assessor awards or equivalent qualifications (or demonstrate a willingness to work towards obtaining them).
  • Have achieved GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Possess Verifier awards or equivalent qualifications (or are willing to work towards obtaining them).
  • Have proficient IT skills relevant to the role’s requirements.
  • Exhibit a strong ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
