We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Tutor/Assessor to join our Health & Care department. This role presents a fantastic chance to play a key part in assessing a caseload of students undertaking the Senior Health Care Worker qualification and Apprenticeship Standard across our college campuses. You will ensure that assessments are conducted to the highest standards, while contributing to our vibrant and thriving academic community.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Health Care Tutor / Assessor, you will:
Plan, conduct, and participate in inductions and skills scans for learners, identifying realistic learning priorities. In collaboration with employers, you will develop individual learning plans and agree on achievable completion targets.
Plan, deliver, and assess skills, knowledge, and behaviours to support the successful achievement of Apprenticeship Standards, helping students reach their full potential both academically and personally.
Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
Provide information, advice, and guidance to learners and employers, promoting learning and ensuring the timely achievement of agreed learning aims and SMART objectives.
Maintain a minimum caseload of learners to ensure qualifications and standards are achieved, whilst fostering relationships with existing employers and identifying new business opportunities.
Support the ongoing evaluation of learning needs and objectives through regular reviews and participation in best practice groups.
What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
Hold a minimum Level 3 professional qualification in Health Care.
Possess Assessor awards or equivalent- essential
Have achieved Grade C/4 or higher in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
Hold Verifier awards or equivalent (or are willing to work towards obtaining these).
Teaching Qualification or willing work towards - desirable
Experience of working in or with Mental Health Services – essential
Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the College.
